It didn’t take long for Kefir to catch people’s attention due to its massive size. Yuliya shared with Bored Panda that Kefir is currently 1 year and 9 months old, weighing in at approximately 26.5 pounds. Despite already being quite large, Yuliya anticipates that Kefir will continue to grow a bit more as Maine Coons are known to keep developing until they reach 3 years of age.
Yuliya finds it amusing to witness people’s reactions when they encounter Kefir for the first time, often confusing the feline for a dog due to its immense stature.

Yulia Minina, a resident of the quaint village of Stary Oskol, delightfully welcomed a stunning feline into her life nearly two years ago when it was merely a tiny kitten.
Kefir has reached the age of 1 year and 9 months, as evidenced by yuliyamnn’s photo credits.
The cat owner revealed that they acquired Kefir from a cattery. They were captivated by the cat’s stunning and pristine white fur, hence the fitting name inspired by a dairy drink. Right from the start, Kefir’s discerning taste led to a rejection of dry cat food, prompting a shift to a diet consisting solely of meat and natural feed. As a Maine Coon cat, Kefir currently weighs a substantial 26.5 pounds, with the promise of further growth, showcasing a typical trait of this breed.
Kefir, the adorable feline, as per her human companion Yuliya, has a penchant for natural food and possesses a laid-back demeanor.
Yuliya mentioned that the only downside to taking care of Kefir is the excessive amount of fur the cat sheds around the house. Nonetheless, Kefir is treated like a beloved member of the family and always joins Yuliya and her loved ones at the dinner table.
Yuliya also shared that Kefir has developed a peculiar habit of leaping onto her while she’s trying to sleep at night. “When he was smaller, he didn’t do this, and it wasn’t so bothersome. But now that he’s grown so big and heavy, it’s not exactly easy to fall asleep like that.”
